is the best policy …..
I would opine Honesty WAS the best policy . Honestly , do you agree ? Generation ( Zee ) would second the WAS factor I’m sure.
Truth is bitter
Truth is merciless
Truth is stark
Truth hurts
Truth is naked , pricking…..I could go on and on. Not that I am in favour of lies.I simply want to say that if a small lie can avert a big disaster then lie it be ! .Children should not be encouraged to lie , but we as adults too should change our perspective oas to how to punish them if they are telling the truth….I feel a pat on the back ( instead of slaps )for telling the truth would create a different opinion about truth and its aftermath.

सांच को आँच नही
इसके सामने झूठ की कोई औकात नहीं
पलभर को धुँधलाता है
चीरकर झूठ के कोहरे को सूरज सा निखार जाता है
झूठ आंख-मिचौली खेलता हैं
सच भी कोई छिपा नहीं रहता है
झूठ सोने के पानी सा चमकता है
सच सोने सा दमकता है
दोनों में कोई तालमेल नहीं है
न ही कोई बराबरी हैं
मीठे से इस झूठ की सच के आगे कहा चली है
इसलिए सांच को आँच नही हैं।

Not, at all it is not ok to lie
Your one lie ties thousands of lies into it
Because you tell a lie
For hiding that lie
You tell one more lie
This cycle continues
And weaves a ball of lies
One day, the truth will come to know in front
Everyone will lose their trust in you
But sometimes, it is ok to lie
When it saves someone’s life
Then truth must be covered in your eyes
And lie must be generated from your mind
Because nothing is more than the lives of people
Lie is like a sugar
Whereas honestly is like a bitter guard.
