बहानों पर टिकी है ज़िन्दगी
कभी रिश्ते तोड़ने के बहाने ,
कभी दूर होने के बहाने,
कभी मुंह मोड़ने के बहाने,
बहानों पर टिकी है ज़िन्दगी।
कभी खुद को बचाने के बहाने ,
कभी लोगो के सामने दिखावे के बहाने ,
कभी सच छुपाने के बहाने ,
बहानों पर टिकी है ज़िन्दगी।
कभी अपनों को रोकने के बहाने ,
कभी दुखों को झुठलाने के बहाने ,
कभी आंसू को छुपाने के बहाने ,
बहानों पर टिकी है ज़िन्दगी ।
बुढापे में मां बाप को ना रखने के बहाने
अच्छाई दिखाकर बुराई के बहाने
कब तक चलेंगे ये बहाने
बहानों पर टिकी है ज़िन्दगी।

The list is long, full of excuses
Excuses are ubiquitous
A reason not to do something
A reason not to be somewhere
Excuses lay between you and your dreams
An excuse is a thief of achievement
Excuse can only give you a break
A delay to your desired destination

An excuse is not real
The figment of your imagination
The evidence of your illusion
just because you lack inspiration

An excuse is a polite way to refuse
choose to excuse or rescue your dreams
Excuse makes a mountain out of a molehill
A thousand miles on the road of excuses leads to nowhere
A perfect reason for not doing something does nothing
but keeps you far away from doing something

Excuse justifies you but cannot satisfy you
An excuse is surmountable with determination
Keep your eyes on the goal
you’ll become a go-getter

बहाना

जब भारी थी रिश्तें निभाने की तो
बस सब ने बहाने बना दिये.
आज का ये दोर है बस नाम का हर रिश्ता निभाना है
जरूरत थी हमें तब सब ने बस बहान ही दिये

प्यार की कोई कदर नहीं
किसी को किसी की अहमियत नहीं.
कहते है तुम्हें समझना बहुत मुश्किल है,
समझना दिल से है किसी बहाने की जरूरत नहीं .

जब चाहत होती हैं साथ की,
खलती है जब कमी किसी अपने की,
दिल ढूँढता है उन्हें यहीं कहीं
बस बहाना आता है की वक़्त नहीं है.

कहीं रह ना जाए ये बहाने वक़्त निकल ना जाए
कहीं जब तुम खोजों अपनों को और बस यादें आए

Excuse

You make an excuse from what’s going on in your life,
You make an excuse everytime you see yourself cry, die from inside,
You make an excuse from most of the problems in your life,
Then they add up all together and seem to make your whole life an excuse,
Which you feel hard to consider,
But remember that
It’s OK to make an excuse when you don’t want to go,
It’s OK to rest when you’re tired,
Crying doesn’t make you weak,
But fake happiness does.
Don’t make excuses from your problems,
At the end, problems will seem to make you an excuse.

बहाने बहाने से बुलाना तेरा
क़ातिल अदा से सताना तेरा

याद तो होगा वो दौरे गुजिस्ता
वह हर एक बात बताना तेरा

वह झूठ मूठ की नाराज़गियां
बहलावो से मान जाना तेरा

बहाने थे जितने हक़ीक़त हुऐ
जीस्त ए गुरेज़ा से जाना तेरा

सर्फ़ जिंदगी बहानो में हो गई
यूँ हुआ जांना आना जाना तेरा

वो बहाने बनाता रहा, मौके गंवाता रहा।
हर मोड़ पे ज़िंदगी के यूं मात खाता रहा।

सीखा न उसने गिर कर सम्हलना
रोज-रोज अपनी ग़लतियां दुहराता रहा।

सोमवार से रविवार यूं हीं निकलते थे
ऐसे हीं करके सब वक्त गंवाता रहा।

आलस देखकर अंतर्मन था चीखता
वो कानों को ढकके आराम फरमाता रहा।

उसके सपने बड़े थे थी बाते बड़ी सब
वो सपनों की दुनिया में दिन बिताता रहा।

अपने हीं भविष्य का था दुश्मन बना
फिर शिद्दत से अपनी दूश्मनी निभाता रहा।

अपने हीं आप से रोज़ झूठ बोलता
वो ज़िंदगी में ज़िंदगी भर बहाने बनाता रहा।
