His/her smiling face

Baby Smile (Poem)
She has a smiling face, which immediately entices people,
I’ve grown up seeing her with all her euphoria and squabble.

Marriage life shaped her from an innocent girl to a sturdy woman,
So I miss her naive smile which was once common.

Now I’m watching her playful son, practising to walk,
Doing all naughty deeds around the house and rock.

In a room, I heard his noisy voice,
So I followed his sound to look at his baby face.

Looking at him, I found he was crying for his lost toy,
After searching for it and handing it to him, I saw the same smile with joy.

The smile is not lost actually,
It’ll be repetitive until the generation continuously.

The Toothless Smile

Her toothless smile was utterly mesmerizing, a sight that could melt countless hearts..
The twinkle in her eyes outshone a hundred stars, radiating warmth and love.

I am speaking of my grandmother – an epitome of love and compassion. Her heart bled for others, unable to bear the sight of anyone in pain. I still remember those days when my mother would heal her patients with medicines, while my grandmother would soothe them with gentle words. She was more than just a listener; she was a counselor, a guiding light for those burdened with worries. Many found solace in her presence, comforted by her ever- glowing smile.

The day I dressed as a bride, her joy knew no bounds. She hobbled around the house, watching over every detail, instructing and scolding the younger ones to stay away from the pooja place.

Her smile that day was wide and radiant, but behind it, hidden from most, were two pear- like tears glistening in her eyes.

I longed to bury my face in her lap, as I had done so many times to escape my parents’ scoldings. But the carefully applied makeup on my face held me back.

Today, I stand at a threshold where memories are all I have. I can only reminisce about the warmth of her embrace and the beauty of that unforgettable toothless smile on her face.

His Smiling Face

His smiling face is full of light,
Like the moon that shines at night.
So warm, so bright, so pure and true,
It makes the world feel fresh and new.

When he smiles, my worries fade,
Like sunshine melting morning shade.
His laughter sounds so soft, so sweet,
Like a song that makes my heart beat.

Even when the days are tough,
His little smile is just enough.
It brings me hope, it makes me strong,
Like a melody, a happy song.

No matter where, no matter when,
I wish to see that smile again.
For in his face, so full of grace,
I find my safest, happiest place.
